A nice day trip with visit to the silvermines of Kongsberg.  2 hours drive from Vrådal.

Visit the Kongsberg Silver Mines. The mining train goes 2300 meters into the Kings mine, making it Kongsberg Sølvverk's largest mine. The bottom lays 1070 meters beneath the earth's surface and 560 meters below sea level. The train runs every day between the 18th of May and 31st of August. It is also possible for groups to book throughout the year. In the silver mines, you can go treasure hunting or join tours with demonstrations of "Fahrkunsten" - the first crew lift that brought the miners 300 meters down into the mines.

The Kongsberg Silver Mines are not adapted for people with reduced mobility. Recommended age limit is 5 years of age.
